Bakken Shale storage hub terminal
Tesoro Logistics has proposed an expansion of its Bakken Shale storage hub terminal, in North Dakota's Bakken Shale area, US, being built near the Tesoro High Plains Pipeline System.
The expansion would allow companies to ship to and from multiple pipelines and rail loading facilities in the area.
The project will be completed in phases, with the initial storage capacity expected to be at least one million barrels. The first 360,000 barrels of capacity is currently under construction.
It is understood that the San Antonio-based firm, a subsidiary of Tesoro Corp, is able to acquire enough land to expand the Bakken storage facility to at least 2.5 million barrels.
