SGS wins quality assurance contract for the fabrication of subsea distribution hardware

Geneva, the 14th April 2014
SGS has won a contract to supply quality assurance (QA) and oversee on-site non-destructive testing (NDT) for the fabrication of subsea distribution hardware.
On February 7, SGS was awarded a contract to supply quality assurance (QA) and oversee on-site non-destructive testing (NDT) for the fabrication of subsea distribution hardware for a global energy and petrochemical company
Highly skilled SGS personnel will join the client’s Project Team for the duration, assume the lead QA surveillance role, ensure that fabrication specifications are being met and minimize equipment failures once on site. This requires SGS to perform quality audits of both completed and in-process fabrication, evaluating current fabrication status and scheduling.
Under this contract, SGS’s personnel will verify that all fabrication is completed in accordance with the relevant project specifications and drawings, including weld specifications and nameplate stamping, as well as in-shop verification and compliance to the issued documents.
"SGS was chosen because of our reputation for the excellence and expertise of our QA personnel," said Francisco Robalino, SGS spokesperson. "In addition to the hands-on QA role, SGS will also conduct periodic audits of the fabrication program to verify the ongoing need for an external inspector."
Having previously engaged SGS to deliver welding inspections on the same project, this new contract follows endorses the company’s reputation for quality, excellence and consistency.
