Torm tanker saved by armed guards

A team from a NATO warship detained nine pirate suspects after a recent attack on the MR product carrier ‘Torm Kansas’.
The pirates were deterred by warning shots from the ship's armed guards.

Copenhagen based TORM said that the attack took place in the western Indian Ocean. There were no injuries to the crew, damage to the vessel, or cargo and no threat to the environment.

‘Torm Kansas’ was en route from Sikka in India to Mossel Bay in South Africa at the time of the incident.
